170 PEOPLE WILL BE LAID OFF
Discord, which laid off 4 percent of its employees in August 2023, has now made a layoff decision that affects more people. Company CEO Jason Citron announced in a statement to his employees that a total of 170 people would be laid off across many departments.
Citron stated that they had increased Discord's workforce by 5 times since 2020 and had taken on more projects, but that the efficiency obtained had decreased. Fortunately, those laid off will be able to receive support from the company until they find a new job.
Accordingly, salary payments for 5 months, assistance, support for finding a job for 3 months, and health insurance until the end of 2024 will be provided.
