Cross-platform messaging infrastructure is coming to WhatsApp
WhatsApp may soon gain cross-platform messaging support due to pressure from the European Union.
The European Union is putting pressure on companies to ensure that applications or devices used by millions of people treat them fairly. Recently, massive companies that have monopolized various fields, such as Apple, Amazon, and Google, have received warnings from the EU. Now, in order to prevent monopolization in messaging, the introduction of cross-platform messaging support for WhatsApp has come to the agenda.
WHATSAPP WILL OFFER CROSS-PLATFORM MESSAGING SUPPORT
We are referring to a feature that WhatsApp has been testing for some time. Once WhatsApp enables this feature, it will be possible to send messages from Telegram to WhatsApp. The best part of this feature is that users will be able to use services without having to download every single application.
The feature, which has begun separate tests for Android and iOS, is expected to be rolled out not only to countries in Europe but to every country.
As shared, the feature will appear to users as an option labeled as third-party chats.
