Elon Musk's Wikipedia alternative, Grokipedia, has not been updated for months

It has been claimed that Grokipedia, an online encyclopedia project developed under Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI, has not been updated for a long time. According to a review published by Lawfare, no content changes have been detected in articles on the platform, which is positioned as an alternative to Wikipedia, since April 24.

Grokipedia, which Musk previously argued would be a "massive improvement" over Wikipedia, launched in October 2025 with version v0.1 and was initially made available with 885 thousand articles. With the release of version v0.2 in November 2025, it was stated that the number of articles on the platform had exceeded 6 million.

However, the "Recent changes" section on the platform's live tracking page currently displays the message "Live editing is currently unavailable." This situation has raised questions about whether the system's content update and editing flow has come to a halt.

HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SUGGESTIONS ARE PENDING

It was reported that while users can continue to submit new article titles or correction suggestions for existing content on Grokipedia, these suggestions are not being processed. In Lawfare's review of both highly visited and less frequently seen pages, it was noted that suggestions were not entering the acceptance or rejection process.

The review recorded that there are 34 thousand 519 pages that have received at least one edit suggestion, with a total of 225 thousand 496 suggestions attached to these pages. According to the report, not a single correction has been identified as accepted or rejected within the last three months.

The fact that Musk last mentioned Grokipedia on his personal X account in February has also reinforced uncertainty regarding the project's future. There is no clear explanation as to why the platform's update process has stopped or when it might resume.
