Researchers succeed in mapping the genetic map of rice
Chinese researchers have created a complete digital genetic map of rice by examining over 10 thousand rice samples.
In the study published in the journal "Nucleic Acids Research," researchers from the Agricultural Genomics Institute in Shenzhen examined the genetic structure of 10 thousand 548 rice samples.
Within the scope of the research, 54 million 378 thousand 986 chemical components of rice varieties were examined, while 11 million 119 thousand 947 mutations and 184 thousand 736 variations were analyzed.
DATABASE CREATED FOR GLOBAL USERS
The researchers stated that the creation of the complete digital genetic map of rice would serve as an important reference point for studying the natural variations of the grain and examining rare rice species.

Based on this map, the researchers also created an online database open to global users.
Speaking to the Xinhua news agency, researcher Shang Liangguang noted that the research they conducted is a "digital map" that will assist in rice production.
