YouTube will not develop a dedicated app for Apple Vision Pro
The app store for Apple Vision Pro has opened. While app developers will be able to add custom versions for the device, YouTube will not be one of them.
Apple has opened pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro. Additionally, the device will be available for purchase at Apple stores in the US on February 2. Regarding the Vision Pro, we recently saw the launch of its app store. This store will feature versions of familiar apps specifically developed for this device. However, according to a statement from YouTube, a dedicated app will not be developed.
Users will be able to access YouTube through the browsers on the device.
IT APPEARS THE MOST POPULAR APPS WILL NOT BE IN THE APP STORE FOR VISION PRO IN THE INITIAL PHASE
According to a statement reported by The Verge, YouTube spokesperson Jessica Gibby said, "YouTube users will be able to access YouTube via Safari on the Apple Vision Pro."
This announcement did not come from YouTube alone; Spotify will also not be releasing a dedicated app for the device. According to this report by Bloomberg, there may be a prejudice against the Vision Pro.
Previously, Netflix had also made headlines with a similar move. It was revealed that device owners would be able to watch Netflix via a browser, just like with YouTube.
