YouTube's ad blocker move has arrived in Turkey

The vast majority of YouTube users prefer to use the platform for free. For this reason, they use 'ad blocker' applications to avoid seeing ads. However, this does not suit YouTube, and it has been working on the issue for some time.

TURN OFF AD BLOCKER OR SWITCH TO PREMIUM

On the other hand, in order to ensure that those who prefer to use YouTube for free do not remain 'ad-free,' Google has begun testing blocking access to the platform while ad blockers are active, specifically for YouTube. This practice was limited to certain countries and users, but the implementation has now arrived in Turkey.

Google bases this decision, taken specifically for YouTube, on the premise that 'ads are necessary to provide service to millions of people for free.'

In the newly tested infrastructure, when users who do not have Premium enter the platform using an ad blocker, they are met with the warning, 'Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube.' Here, users are offered options to continue; allow YouTube ads or try YouTube Premium.

This warning has currently appeared for some users, not everyone. It is expected that more users will receive the warning in the coming period.
