Dursun Özbek receives a ban from football-related activities
The Professional Football Discipline Committee (PFDK) has decided to impose a 15-day ban from football-related activities on Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, citing statements that damaged the reputation of football and its institutions.
The PFDK has issued a disciplinary decision regarding Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek.
In the announcement made by the committee, it was reported that Özbek was sentenced to a 15-day ban from football-related activities due to statements deemed to have damaged the reputation of football and its institutions. Within the scope of the same file, a fine was also imposed on the Galatasaray Club.
According to the PFDK decision, the yellow-red club will pay a fine of 2 million 700 thousand Euros due to the aforementioned posts.
The following statements were included in the committee's reasoned decision:
"It has been decided that GALATASARAY A.Ş. President DURSUN AYDIN ÖZBEK shall be punished with a 15-DAY BAN FROM FOOTBALL-RELATED ACTIVITIES in accordance with Articles 38/3 and 38/1-a of the Football Disciplinary Instructions (FDT) due to the statements aimed at damaging the reputation of football and its institutions, which were included in the posts made on the Club's official social media account (X) on 21.02.2026 and on the Club's official website (galatasaray.org) on 22.02.2026."
