According to information reported by Takvim, Özbek decided to increase the 3 million euro bonus, which he had previously announced would be awarded upon reaching the quarter-finals, following the victory achieved.
It was learned that after the match, Özbek went to the locker room to congratulate the players and head coach Okan Buruk, and subsequently announced that he had raised the bonus amount to 5 million euros.
It was stated that following this decision, the yellow-red players responded to president Özbek with cheers, and there was great joy in the locker room.
If Galatasaray advances to the quarter-finals by passing the round in the return leg to be played in England on March 18, they will have the opportunity to earn one of the highest bonuses in club history.
