Ministry of Youth and Sports files lawsuit against Galatasaray for outstanding payments

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has filed a lawsuit to collect a 7 percent share of ticket and luxury box revenues generated from matches held at the Seyrantepe Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex.

The petition for the case, which is being heard at the Istanbul Civil Court of First Instance, states: "We requested that Galatasaray Club and Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticari Yatırımlar A.Ş. make the payment by August 29, 2023, to ensure the collection of revenue obtained from ticket sales for all matches held at the Seyrantepe Sports Complex.

However, no payment has been made by either defendant. Therefore, we request that 7 percent of the net revenue obtained from ticket sales for all official, private, and all other types of football matches, as well as Ziraat Turkish Cup (ZTK) matches, held at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex during the 2022-23 season, be paid to our institution, with an initial claim of 50 thousand liras plus interest."
