Osimhen both secures the round and makes history
Making a difference on the European stage in a Galatasaray jersey, Victor Osimhen achieved a first in club history with his goal. The Nigerian star reached 13 goals in European competitions, becoming the highest-scoring foreign player for the yellow-reds.
In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 play-off, Galatasaray faced off against Juventus away from home. In the challenging match, the goals for the yellow-reds were scored by Victor Osimhen and Barış Alper Yılmaz. Stepping up in the 105+1st minute of extra time, Osimhen provided an advantage that strengthened Galatasaray's hopes of advancing with his critical goal.
A HISTORIC MARK ON THE EUROPEAN STAGE
Finding the net against Juventus, the 27-year-old striker increased his goal tally in European competitions during his Galatasaray career to 13. With this performance, he claimed the title of the foreign player with the most goals in European arenas in club history.
Previously, Milan Baroš and Shabani Nonda topped this list with 12 goals each, while Mario Jardel had recorded 11 goals.

Of Osimhen's 13 goals in European competitions, 7 came in the Champions League and 6 in the Europa League. The Nigerian footballer continues to play a key role in Galatasaray's European journey with the goals he scores in critical matches.
SEASON PERFORMANCE IS IMPRESSIVE
The successful forward has recorded 9 goals in the Trendyol Super League and 7 in the Champions League this season, bringing his total goal count to 16. Osimhen is among the leading names carrying Galatasaray's scoring burden in both the league and Europe.
A RECORD THAT WENT DOWN IN TURKISH FOOTBALL HISTORY
Victor Osimhen finished the previous season as the top scorer in the Super League with 26 goals. With 37 goals scored across all competitions in the 2024-2025 season, he surpassed the record of 34 goals set by Mario Jardel in the 2000-2001 season, becoming the foreign player with the most goals in a single season in Turkey.
Coming to Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last season, Osimhen became the most expensive transfer in club history this season with a transfer fee of 75 million Euros. The Nigerian star added significant achievements to his career by winning the Trendyol Super League and Ziraat Turkish Cup titles with Galatasaray.
