Osimhen takes a jab at Fenerbahçe
Galatasaray's star striker Victor Osimhen evaluated both the pitch performance and the team's motivation following the defeat against Fenerbahçe.
Galatasaray's in-form striker Victor Osimhen gave striking messages in his statements following the derby match against Fenerbahçe, which they lost 3-0. The Nigerian footballer thanked those who contributed to his recovery and once again clearly emphasized his commitment to his team.
Osimhen made the following remarks in his post-match assessment:
"I would like to thank Doctor Yener and the medical team. They did a very good job. It is impossible for me to return at one hundred percent, but they prepared me very well psychologically. We fought well as a whole team. We disappointed our fans in the cup. I am proud of my team's performance and happy with the victory."
Stating that they played a more comfortable game than they expected in the match against Fenerbahçe, Osimhen expressed that the intensity in training sessions was higher than the match itself with these words:
"After losing in the cup, we needed to prepare with more ambition. We talked in the dressing room, said this match is behind us, and motivated ourselves. Our coach also motivated us. We fought very well in the last 3 training sessions. They were more ambitious, more eager, and more exhausting training sessions than even this match. With all due respect to the opponent; we got less tired in this match than in our training sessions. As Galatasaray, we want to continue like this until the end of the season."
Osimhen answered questions about his individual performance with confidence. "As in every derby... You know, I can score against any team. This is my job. I do this job well. The team should be congratulated; we showed how prepared we were. We have taken one more step toward our championship goal," he said, emphasizing Galatasaray's motivation on the path to the title.
Addressing the objections made by Fenerbahçe players regarding the protective equipment he used before the match, the experienced footballer commented as follows:
"Personally, I don't look at the internet much. When I came to the facility, someone from the club mentioned this (the objection regarding the protective equipment he uses). I don't understand these people. They are going to compete against the best team in the league, yet they complain about this. I scored my goal, did my job, and did my best. That was what mattered to me."
Furthermore, reiterating his love for the yellow-red team once again, Osimhen sent an important message to the fans with these words: "I have said it many times, I will not get tired of saying it, I will say it again and again; I love Galatasaray with everything it has. As long as there is an opportunity, I will always protect this crest. I say this from my heart. I will fight with everything I have for this crest."
