Rafael Nadal will not participate in Wimbledon
Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has announced that he will not participate in Wimbledon, the third grand slam tournament of the season.
38-year-old Rafael Nadal, who has 22 grand slam titles in his career, noted in a post on his social media account that he will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics and that continuing his preparations on clay courts would be better for his performance.
'I AM SAD BUT...'
The Spanish tennis player stated, "For this reason, I will not be able to play at Wimbledon. I am sad that I will not be able to experience the wonderful atmosphere of that magnificent event this year and that I will not be able to be with all the British fans who have always given me great support."
Nadal is also expected to compete for a medal in doubles with Carlos Alcaraz at the Olympics.
The Spanish tennis player won a gold medal in singles at Beijing 2008 and in doubles at Rio 2016.
