Shocking remarks from Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard about Galatasaray
Following the heavy defeat against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, Steven Gerrard's criticisms regarding Galatasaray have sparked debate on social media.
In the Champions League Round of 16 second-leg match played in England, Galatasaray was eliminated from the tournament after losing 4-0 to Liverpool at Anfield Road.
Despite their 1-0 victory in the first leg, the yellow-reds were unable to respond to the English side's high-pressure game, and the ticket to the quarter-finals went to Liverpool.
'GALATASARAY WAS EMBARRASSING'
Speaking to the English press after the match, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard criticized Galatasaray's performance with striking remarks. Gerrard drew the ire of social media users in particular with his comments: "Galatasaray were embarrassing from start to finish. You saw them rolling around on the ground; it was pathetic. They had some serious injuries, but Liverpool made them look like an ordinary team. I think they were very pathetic."
