Statement from Serdal Adalı on events at Beşiktaş, criticism of Hasan Arat

Adalı published a press statement regarding the dismissals at Beşiktaş and the subsequent events.

Stating that there is a difference as stark as black and white between what Hasan Arat promised since the day he was elected and what is currently being experienced, Adalı criticized the Arat administration in harsh terms.

Adalı's statements are as follows:

"Dear Beşiktaş fans,

Since the moment the extraordinary elective general assembly on December 3, 2023, concluded, there have been differences as stark as black and white and major contradictions between what was promised to Beşiktaş fans to take office and what is being experienced today.

The crisis environment that has reached its peak in our Beşiktaş for the past few days erupted during the night hours; paths have been parted with Football Teams Coordinator Mr. Samet Aybaba and Board Advisor Bradley Howard Friedel.

The manner in which Samet Aybaba, who has served our Beşiktaş at the levels of athlete, captain, and head coach, was dismissed is completely contrary to the values of our Beşiktaş, human and democratic norms, and the principles of institutionalism and transparency, and is unbecoming. Following this action, the Beşiktaş Board of Directors decided on the resignation of Mr. Hasan Arat from Futbol A.Ş. and the appointment of Mr. Hüseyin Yücel in his place; the management model at Beşiktaş was changed in one day with a 'we did it, it is done' attitude.

Respected Beşiktaş fans;

At the Beşiktaş Extraordinary Elective General Assembly, we ran for the Beşiktaş Presidency together with Mr. Hasan Arat in order to carry our Beşiktaş to the places it deserves. From the moment the election concluded, the competition at the congress also ended. From that point on, we also tried to provide every kind of support we could to the elected President and Board of Directors. We stood by our Beşiktaş; we never compromised on the thought that what matters is Beşiktaş.

The process experienced in Beşiktaş since last night and the situation that emerged subsequently lead to everything being uncertain in the period until the May 2025 congress, to the continuation of a chaotic environment and power struggles, and to calculations made over Beşiktaş taking precedence over the interests of Beşiktaş.

Beşiktaş does not have time to deal with intrigues regarding presidents, second presidents, seats, and authority. The pieces must fall into place in the community as soon as possible, and our Beşiktaş must march toward its goals with unity and solidarity.

With the decision made today, our Beşiktaş's sporting failure and mistakes in team construction are being attempted to be normalized with expressions such as 'we can make mistakes like everyone else, there can be ups and downs here as everywhere,' and the fact that Beşiktaş has been far from the championship race in November for the fourth consecutive season is being tolerated with a 'these things happen' tone.

Beşiktaş belongs to all of us; it is the place that should minimize the margin for error. After spending these budgets and making these choices, everyone must take their share of the positive or negative situation.

Beşiktaş and Beşiktaş fans have no tolerance left for failure.

The Beşiktaş administration must fulfill the requirements of the authority it received at the general assembly as soon as possible; it must lead Beşiktaş out of the environment of uncertainty and chaos, and clearly set out its roadmap until the 2025 congress and share this transparently with the Beşiktaş public.

Furthermore; as I expressed today to our Divan Board President Mr. Tevfik Yamantürk; I would like to share with the Beşiktaş community my concern that the upcoming transfer period will be turned into a PR campaign for the 2025 elections, and that expenditures for show, power displays, and manipulations will be made to pull the wool over people's eyes. Not only transfer expenditures or cash flow; financial practices such as capital increases or taking Kartal Yuvası stores public should never be attempted, and not a single penny of Beşiktaş should be wasted by resorting to different methods to provide resources. During this period, my eyes, my hands, and my body are on every penny of Beşiktaş.

Beşiktaş is not a place where anyone can dictate direction, or in football terms, 'play games' with the financial resources they provide to the club, perceptions, manipulations, or palace games. We will not allow the Beşiktaş presidential office to be manipulated by hiding behind any material or spiritual entity.

The appreciation of who looks at Beşiktaş correctly, who lives Beşiktaş correctly, and who approaches Beşiktaş without ulterior motives belongs to the great Beşiktaş community.

Let no one worry, let no one be anxious.

Beşiktaş is the club of thousands, of millions who are dying to serve Beşiktaş, who will grit their teeth for Beşiktaş.

What matters is Beşiktaş!

Respectfully."
