Attention those traveling by train for the holiday: Additional YHT services are coming

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that capacity will be increased on train services to meet the expected rise in passenger demand during the Ramadan Feast. Accordingly, a total additional capacity of 8,898 seats will be created on High-Speed Trains (YHT), mainline, and regional trains.

ADDITIONAL YHT SERVICES ON THE ANKARA–ISTANBUL LINE

Uraloğlu stated that due to the holiday rush, additional YHT services will be organized on the Ankara-Istanbul-Ankara line on March 19, 22, and 23.

In this context, a total of 6 additional round-trip YHT services will be operated on the line in question. The additional services will depart from Ankara at 11:15 and from Istanbul at 17:45.

Minister Uraloğlu noted that the planned additional services will reduce passenger congestion during the holiday period, stating, "We will provide a total capacity increase of 8,898 seats on our YHT, mainline, and regional trains during the Ramadan Feast."

WAGON REINFORCEMENTS FOR MAINLINE AND REGIONAL TRAINS

The capacity increase will not be limited to YHT services alone.

Additional wagons will also be added to the Izmir Mavi, Güney/Vangölü, Konya Mavi, Ege, 6 Eylül, 17 Eylül, and Ankara express trains, as well as the Uzunköprü-Halkalı and Edirne-Halkalı regional trains.

Uraloğlu stated that a total of 100 wagons will be added to mainline and regional trains between March 19 and 23, noting that this measure will create an additional seating capacity of approximately 6,000 people.
