Combi boiler usage: What to do to save energy

It is known that combi boilers can be used at maximum efficiency by adjusting their operating temperature.

'What should the combi boiler temperature be?' is a question that is important not only for energy economy but also for comfort.

THE COMBI BOILER SHOULD BE KEPT AT AN IDEAL TEMPERATURE

According to heating engineering, in terms of comfort conditions, different rooms in a house should have different temperatures. In other words, it is recommended that the temperature of the hallway and the living room, or the kitchen and the bathroom, should not be the same.

If the appropriate temperature value for each room in the house is known and these spaces are heated according to these temperature values, the use of the combi boiler will be efficient. The ideal temperature value for the entrance, hallway, and corridor should be 15°C, for the living room, lounge, bedroom, and kitchen it should be 20°C, and for the bathroom, it should be 24°C.

RADIATOR SIZE AND QUALITY ARE IMPORTANT

In terms of energy economy, the ideal temperature is 20°C. Of course, this value will change according to the radiator size of the apartment. In an apartment with a longer radiator and higher capacity, the living room can reach a temperature of 20°C with a 65°C setting. In a house where a cheaper radiator with smaller dimensions or lower thermal capacity despite having the same appearance is used, the house can only be heated as desired with 65°C or 70°C.

As seen in the answer to the question of what temperature the combi boiler should be, radiator size and radiator thermal capacity play an important role. Furthermore, if the combi boiler temperature is low, the comfort temperature cannot be achieved in homes during very cold weather because the device will not be able to produce the necessary heat.

To eliminate this problem, you can either use a thermostatic radiator valve or place a room thermostat in the living room.
