Passersby did a double-take: Toilet fee in holiday resort sparks controversy

High price debates, which occasionally surface in tourism regions, have now been joined by a toilet usage fee. Footage filmed at a business in the Akyaka neighborhood of Muğla's Ula district has caused a widespread stir on social media.

The warning sign hung at the entrance of the business's restroom stated, "Toilet use for non-customers is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Usage fee: '500 TL'."

DIALOGUE IN THE FOOTAGE DREW ATTENTION

The conversation between the individuals recording the sign with a mobile phone camera was also captured in the video. Upon the person filming saying, "If you're not a customer, you pay 500 liras," the woman next to them laughed and replied, "Will you pay 500 liras? Lend me 500, I'm going in."

Young people visiting a business in the Akyaka district of Muğla were stunned by the sign hung on the toilet.
