Flood disaster in Rize: Ayder Plateau road closed
Continuous rainfall for the past two days in the Eastern Black Sea region has caused streams to overflow and roads to close in Rize. The road to Ayder Plateau has been closed to traffic, and transportation to many villages has been completely cut off.
Rainfall that has been affecting the Eastern Black Sea region for 2 days is negatively impacting life in Rize.
Due to the rainfall that was effective throughout the night, the road to Ayder Plateau, located in the Çamlıhemşin district—a world-famous tourism center in Rize—was closed to traffic as a result of the Çamlıhemşin Stream overflowing and a landslide. In addition to the road between the district center and the plateau being closed to traffic, numerous streams in the Ardeşen and Fındıklı districts of the region also overflowed. Many village roads were closed to traffic.
On the other hand, a bridge in the Şenyamaç village of the Ardeşen district could not withstand the stream waters, collapsed, and was closed to traffic.
