6.3 magnitude earthquake in Pakistan

The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) of the Pakistan Meteorological Department announced that the 6.3 magnitude earthquake, centered in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, occurred at 21:13 local time at a depth of 190 kilometers. It was stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. The intense tremors were felt in the capital Islamabad, as well as in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Additionally, the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, as well as the areas of Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, and Skardu, were among the locations where the earthquake was felt.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab also noted that the tremors were felt in Lahore, Mianwali, Jhang, Faisalabad, Pothohar, Sargodha, and other districts in the province. The PDMA announced that there was no loss of life or property in the incident.

Footage shared on social media showed people taking to the streets and leaving their homes in a panic due to the earthquake.
