Abbas Araghchi: 'Iran has achieved a military and political victory'

Speaking at a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement on the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during the war, held at the Ministry of Health in the capital Tehran, Araghchi said that the resistance shown by Iran during the war process has also drawn attention in international circles.

Araghchi expressed that following Iran's struggle against the US and Israel, it is now described as an "invincible power," and that they have received feedback in this direction from other countries as well. He continued his words as follows:

"I have heard the phrase 'The Iranians created a miracle and surprised the whole world' from officials of other countries many times. No one thought that Iran would stand up to the US like this and ultimately force the enemy to request negotiations."

Reminding of the call for "unconditional surrender" made by then-US President Donald Trump to Iran at the beginning of the war, Araghchi stated that the US abandoned this stance shortly after and began making attempts for negotiations. He said, "They issued a message of unconditional surrender, and the same enemy was begging for negotiations 20 days later."

Araghchi also stated that the Iranian people have resolutely protected their rights in the diplomatic arena, using the expressions, "The Iranian nation has shown how to defend its rights in the field of diplomacy. I have heard this from various officials; they say, 'you have won both the war and the diplomacy'."
