Allegations that Germany is selling arms to Israel: Country that sued Germany closes its embassy
Nicaragua, which accuses Germany of being complicit in the genocide in the Gaza Strip by providing weapons to Israel, has closed its embassy in Berlin.
The German Federal Foreign Office's website states that Nicaragua has closed its embassy in Berlin.
Reports in the German press also indicated that the country decided to close its embassy following the lawsuit it filed against Germany at the International Court of Justice.
It was noted that Nicaragua's embassy in Austria will handle consular services and other requests originating from Germany.
'GENOCIDE' ACCUSATION
The reports stated that there are approximately 250 Nicaraguan citizens in Germany, while about 1,000 German citizens live in Nicaragua.
Nicaragua accuses Germany of contributing to the genocide in the Gaza Strip by providing weapons to Israel.
Nicaragua also demands that Germany immediately halt arms shipments to Israel and resume funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
