Araghchi: US's contradictory stance increases distrust in the diplomatic process

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation. The discussion covered recent regional developments and the attacks by the US and Israel against Iran.

Araghchi expressed his gratitude for the efforts of Turkey and certain regional countries to end the ongoing war, characterizing the attacks by the US and Israel against Iran as the "root cause of the current situation and insecurity in the region."

Commenting on the US's stance, Araghchi stated that the Washington administration's contradictory behavior and irrational demands undermine trust, noting that this situation increases distrust toward the diplomatic process.

Minister Fidan touched upon Turkey's approach to ending the war and noted that they are ready to play a constructive role in resolving the current crisis. Stating that Iran's distrust toward the other side is understandable, Fidan emphasized that Iran had been subjected to military attacks twice during the negotiations.

The parties also agreed to maintain bilateral contacts and continue consultations with regional countries.
