A statement was issued on the ISS's X social media account regarding the audio heard during NASA's live stream on the social media platform YouTube, which led to comments that the astronauts were in danger.

The statement announced that there was no emergency on the station and that all astronauts were safe.

The statement, which noted that the astronauts on the International Space Station were asleep at the time the audio recording was broadcast, indicated that the recording belonged to a training simulation conducted for "preparation for various space scenarios."

During the live stream on NASA's official YouTube account, audio was heard in which it was stated that the survival chances of one of the astronauts were "low."
