Azerbaijan: Our territory was not used for attacks on Iran

Hajizada provided a written response to statements made by Iran's Ambassador to Yerevan, Mehdi Sobhani, who claimed that "Israeli drones carried out attacks on Iran from Azerbaijani territory."

Stating that they categorically reject Sobhani's allegations, Hajizada said, "Such completely baseless and provocative claims harm the principles of mutual sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, which are fundamental to relations between Azerbaijan and Iran."

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan's position has been clearly conveyed during recent meetings at the level of presidents and foreign ministers, Hajizada stated, "In this context, we consider the Iranian Ambassador's allegations to be an open provocation."

Hajizada noted that they expect Iran to prevent such steps that are inconsistent with the spirit of relations between the two countries and to take the necessary measures regarding the Ambassador, who consistently displays a pro-Armenian stance instead of representing his own country.

Spokesperson Hajizada stated the following:

"Azerbaijan categorically rejects allegations that its airspace or territory has been used by any state for the purpose of conducting military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country. Such allegations are baseless, and there is no credible evidence on this matter."

Iran's Ambassador to Yerevan, Sobhani, had claimed during a press conference in Yerevan that Azerbaijani territory was used in Israeli drone attacks against Iran.
