In a meeting held in Washington D.C., U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida discussed their shared concerns regarding diplomacy with China and "coercive and destabilizing activities" in the South China Sea.
U.S. President Joe Biden met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida within the framework of the Quad Leaders' Summit held in the capital, Washington D.C.
In a statement released by the White House regarding the meeting, it was noted that the leaders discussed their shared concerns regarding diplomacy with China and "coercive and destabilizing activities" in the South China Sea.
The statement added, "Biden and Kishida reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace in the Taiwan Strait and their pledges toward the development and protection of technologies such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors."
