Stating that Syria does not trust Israel but is keeping the diplomatic option open, Shaibani said, "We call on Israel to seize a historic opportunity."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The attack, which escalated tensions, targeted the abandoned Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase located east of the Idlib province in northern Syria. It was reported that fighter jets belonging to the Israeli military carried out an attack on the base.
A Syrian official stated that Israeli fighter jets conducted 8 strikes on the Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase, targeting the runway as well as an idle structure in the hangar.
No official information has been shared regarding whether there were any casualties or injuries in the attack. Following the incident, many countries, led by Turkey, reacted to Israel.
