Ceasefire call to Trump from Pakistan: Give us time

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested that US President Donald Trump postpone the planned attack on Iran, stating, "I sincerely request President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks so that diplomacy can continue."

Negotiations are ongoing just hours before the attack, which the US is expected to launch against Iran during the night.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is mediating between the US and Iran, has requested that US President Donald Trump postpone the attack on Iran.

Sharif said, "Diplomatic efforts toward a peaceful resolution of the ongoing war in the Middle East are following a determined, strong, and effective course with the potential to yield concrete results in the near future. I sincerely request President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks so that diplomacy can continue."

Sharif, who also requested that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz to passage during this period, said, "Pakistan sincerely requests our Iranian brothers to open the Strait of Hormuz for a period of two weeks as a gesture of goodwill.

Furthermore, we invite all warring parties to observe a two-week general ceasefire to allow diplomacy to definitively end the war for the sake of long-term peace and stability in the region," he said.
