CENTCOM: 70 ships rerouted in blockade against Iran

CENTCOM has shared the latest data regarding the U.S. blockade implemented against Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz since April 13.

The statement reported that as of today, the routes of 70 commercial ships have been changed as part of operations targeting vessels attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports.

The statement also recalled that 4 ships have been neutralized within the scope of the blockade.

In previous statements, CENTCOM had announced that fighter jets from U.S. aircraft carriers stationed in the region were scrambled against ships alleged to be violating the blockade by heading toward Iranian ports.

It was stated that in these interventions, attacks were carried out against empty Iranian-flagged oil tankers, and the vessels' navigational capabilities were disabled.
