The death toll is rising following the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Indonesia's Flores Island on August 15. The Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the earthquake has risen to 68.

According to the agency's latest statement, at least 213 people have been injured across the country. The fatalities were recorded as 26 in Manggarai, 24 in East Manggarai, 8 in Nagekeo, 4 in Sikka, 2 in Ende, 2 in West Manggarai, and 2 in Ngada regions.

The BNPB announced that there are no remaining missing persons in the earthquake zone. It was stated that the highways affected by the earthquake are generally open to traffic, albeit with some restrictions.

At least 1,576 aftershocks have been recorded in the region following the main tremor. It was announced that efforts to deliver aid to the disaster zone are continuing via land, air, and sea routes.
