Houthis announce US and UK struck Yemen's Hajjah province

According to reports from the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah television, US-UK warplanes carried out 4 strikes on the al-Jarr area of the Abs district in Hajjah province.

While no further details were provided in the report, the targeting of Hajjah, which lies on the Saudi Arabian border, drew attention.

There has been no statement yet from the US or the UK regarding the aforementioned attack.

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi stated in a speech on January 31, "The US and UK attacks on Yemen are unsuccessful and have no effect. These attacks will not limit our military capabilities. We will continue our operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden until Israel's attacks stop and the blockade on Gaza is lifted."

THE SITUATION IN THE RED SEA

The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen began seizing commercial vessels they claimed were linked to Israeli companies off the coast of Yemen on October 31, 2023, in response to Israel's attacks on Gaza, and have also launched drone and missile attacks against some of them.

During this period, US forces have announced multiple times that they have shot down missiles and kamikaze drones launched from Yemen.

Following the Houthis' actions, numerous shipping companies decided to suspend their voyages in the Red Sea.
