Iranian delegation arrives in Pakistan

While the talks planned between Iran and the US in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad this weekend have been cast into uncertainty due to Israel's attacks on Lebanon, a statement has come from Pakistan.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that both countries will be in Islamabad tomorrow.

Describing the planned talks between Iran and the US as a "historic opportunity," Sharif stated that there should be negotiations instead of war.

Sharif said, "Tomorrow, the leaders of both countries (the US and Iran) will be in Islamabad to negotiate at our invitation. Pakistan will do its best for the success of the talks, which is a difficult task. The outcome is in the hands of God."

NEGOTIATION CONDITIONS FROM IRAN

The Iranian delegation, led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has arrived in Islamabad.

Hours earlier, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf said, "A ceasefire must be achieved in Lebanon before the talks in Pakistan." Ghalibaf had also used the expression, "Iran's frozen assets must also be released."

The Iranian press also stated that the talks would begin if the preconditions are accepted.
