Kremlin denies claims that Putin suffered a heart attack: 'Absurd'

The Russian opposition channel "General SVR" claimed in a report that Russian President Vladimir Putin suffered a heart attack at his official residence on Sunday evening.

The report alleged that Putin was resuscitated after doctors intervened to restart his heart, and was subsequently taken to intensive care. The report stated, "Around 21:05 Moscow time, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s security officers were on duty at the scene. Hearing noise and the sound of a fall coming from the President’s bedroom, two security officers immediately entered the bedroom and saw Putin lying on the floor next to the bed, along with an overturned table containing food and drinks. The President likely hit the table and dishes when he fell, which caused the noise. Doctors located in one of the adjacent rooms were immediately called.”

It was claimed that Putin was moved to a specially equipped room in his residence, that his condition has stabilized, and that he is "under constant medical supervision."

"THE PRESIDENT'S BODY DOUBLE IS ATTENDING EVENTS"

The report also alleged that Putin, who is claimed to be an oncology patient whose health is deteriorating and who is unlikely to live past the end of autumn, suffering a heart attack has seriously alarmed his inner circle. The report stated, "Recently, the President’s body double has been attending all official meetings and events. Following the news of the incident in the evening, several people close to Putin contacted each other and agreed to hold consultations on Monday regarding potential steps to be taken in the event of the President’s death in the coming days.”

KREMLIN REJECTS CLAIMS

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied the allegations regarding Putin’s poor health in a statement following the report. While stating that Putin is well and healthy, Peskov described the claim that he uses a body double as "absurd."
