Natural gas explosion in Poland: 15 injured
15 people were injured as a result of a natural gas explosion in an apartment in the Polish city of Tychy.
A natural gas explosion occurred in the city of Tychy in southern Poland.
15 people were injured as a result of the explosion, which took place in an apartment at noon. 23 people were evacuated from the building, where many apartments were damaged.
It was reported that one of the injured, who were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, is in critical condition.
RESCUE DOGS DEPLOYED
Following the explosion, firefighters deployed search and rescue dogs to determine if anyone was trapped under the rubble in some of the apartments that had turned into a scene of devastation.
While the cause of the explosion is not yet known, whether the heavily damaged building is safe for occupancy will be determined after inspections by experts.
