Pilot caught naked and drunk at hotel

An EasyJet captain seen walking around drunk and naked at a luxury hotel in Cape Verde has been suspended. Following the incident, the return flight was canceled and an investigation into the pilot was launched.

The individual, identified as a captain pilot for EasyJet but whose name has not been disclosed, was seen walking naked through the common areas of the five-star Melia Dunas Beach Resort & Spa in Cape Verde. According to witnesses, the pilot had been drinking alcohol at the hotel bar for a long time before the incident.

ENTERED THE GYM AND SPA

According to The Sun newspaper, the captain began drinking after checking into the hotel on August 4. Around 2:30 a.m. the next morning, the pilot was seen arriving at the reception naked before heading toward the gym and spa area.

“HE DIDN'T HAVE A SINGLE PIECE OF CLOTHING ON”

A hotel guest who witnessed the incident said, “The pilot didn't have a single piece of clothing on and smelled of alcohol. The thought that this person would be flying the plane the next day was terrifying.”

FLIGHT CANCELED, INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

The pilot was scheduled to operate the return flight to Gatwick 36 hours after the incident. However, the airline suspended the captain following complaints, and the flight was canceled when a replacement pilot could not be found.

STATEMENT FROM EASYJET

An EasyJet spokesperson told the BBC, “The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority. An investigation into the pilot has been launched immediately.”
