According to information obtained from Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources, the meeting was held between delegations led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay and Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Alexandra Papadopoulou. Sources recalled that the previous Political Dialogue meeting, conducted at the Deputy Minister level between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, was held in Ankara on June 12, 2025.

It was stated that within the scope of the meeting, consultations were held regarding various aspects of bilateral relations, and developments since the last meeting held in Ankara in June 2025 were reviewed.

During the talks, preparations for the 6th High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) meeting, planned to be held in Turkey in the coming period, were also discussed, and the parties reaffirmed their joint commitment to developing cooperation at both the bilateral and international levels. It was reported that an exchange of views on current regional and international developments also took place during the meeting.

The HLCC mechanism between Turkey and Greece was established in 2010 as a result of an initiative taken by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his tenure as Prime Minister. The sixth HLCC meeting is expected to be held in Turkey in the coming period.

"The Deputy Ministers addressed various aspects of bilateral relations, reviewed developments since the last Political Dialogue meeting held in Ankara in June 2025, and held a comprehensive exchange of views on current regional and international developments. The Deputy Ministers also discussed preparations for the 6th High-Level Cooperation Council meeting planned to be held in Turkey in the coming period. The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, and the parties reaffirmed their joint commitment to further developing areas of bilateral and international cooperation."
