Putin and Trump to hold phone call on Ukraine agenda
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will hold a phone call today at 17:00 Moscow time. The main agenda items for the call will be developments in Ukraine and trade relations.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the phone call to be held between Putin and Trump is significant in light of the results of the Russia-Ukraine negotiations held in Istanbul.
Peskov said, "A phone call with Trump will take place at 17:00."
Peskov stated that the Kremlin would share more information following this call, adding, "We are now waiting for the call. We will provide as much information as we can after the conversation."
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social platform that the call would take place at 10:00 US time and that the resolution process in Ukraine and trade relations would be discussed. Trump also announced that he plans to hold phone calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO leaders following this conversation.
Putin and Trump last held a phone call on March 18. This conversation demonstrates that the two leaders continue to communicate on the Ukraine crisis and other international issues.
