Rubio responds to Erdoğan's 'Trump said he would end the Gaza war, but it didn't end' remarks: At the end of the day, they want to come to the White House
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan brought the Gaza and Ukraine crises to the agenda in an interview with Fox News while in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. Recalling the promises made by US President Donald Trump during the election process, Erdoğan stated, "Trump said, 'I will end the Russia-Ukraine war.' Did it end? No. He said, 'I will end the Gaza war.' Did it end? No."
This remark by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan was put to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in another Fox News broadcast. Rubio responded sharply to the criticism by highlighting Trump's role in global politics.
Rubio said, "Leaders can say what they want, but at the end of the day, when a solution is needed, they want to come to the White House. President Erdoğan is also coming to the White House this week to meet with the President."
They all want to talk to Trump, they want him to solve the problem. The truth is, we have meetings going on even today, and leaders are practically begging to be a part of these meetings.
They call and say, 'Include us too, provide an opportunity for a five-minute handshake,'" he said.
"THE WORLD'S INDISPENSABLE LEADER"
Rubio stated, "Trump is the only leader in the world who has a chance to secure the release of the hostages in Gaza and end the war."
