Following the school attack that took place in France yesterday, a security alert was issued today at some of Paris's major tourist attractions.

As reported by euronews; the Louvre Museum in Paris was evacuated and closed to visitors for security reasons. A bomb alert was issued at the Palace of Versailles, and it was reported that evacuations are ongoing.

The famous Louvre Museum in the capital, Paris, which is the most visited museum in the world, was evacuated and closed to visitors on Saturday due to fears of a terrorist attack.

The decision was made after the museum, which hosted approximately eight million visitors last year, received written threats. In a message shared by the institution on social media, it was stated that those who had booked visits for today would be refunded.

According to French media, as many as 15,000 visitors had to be evacuated after the museum received a written bomb threat.

Meanwhile, a statement from the French presidency announced the decision to deploy 7,000 soldiers to Arras, where the terrorist act that shook the country occurred yesterday.

In the city of Arras, which is home to a large Jewish and Muslim population, one person died and three were injured as a result of a knife attack at a high school yesterday.

The French Presidency announced that the troop deployment is being carried out as part of the "Sentinelle" military operation, which was launched after the January 2015 attacks to protect areas of the country considered sensitive from terrorism. The statement from the Elysee Palace indicated that the deployment of soldiers to the region would be completed by Monday evening.
