Trump and Xi hold first phone call following escalation of trade war with mutual tariff hikes
It was reported that US President Trump spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday, and held a conversation with his Chinese counterpart Xi today.
US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their first phone conversation following the trade tensions that arose after mutual tariff increases between the two countries.
China Central Television (CCTV) reported that Xi spoke with Trump by phone today. The report did not share any details regarding the topics discussed during the call.
HAD SPOKEN WITH PUTIN FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR
Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov had stated that the phone call between Russian leader Putin and US President Trump lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that during his conversation with Trump, Putin stated that Russia would respond to Kyiv in retaliation for attacks on Russian airports.
