US President Donald Trump stated, "Because the negotiations conducted with Iran have been elevated to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, as President of the United States, I have cancelled the air strikes and bombings planned against Iran this evening."
A surprise ceasefire announcement has come from US President Donald Trump.
Making a statement on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said, "Because the negotiations conducted with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been elevated to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, as President of the United States, I have cancelled the air strikes and bombings planned against Iran this evening."
Stating that the negotiations have been approved by the parties, the US President said, "The negotiations and final points, both in principle and in detail, have been approved by all parties, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others."
Touching upon the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated, "The naval blockade will remain fully in effect until the transactions are completed. The time and place for the signing will be announced shortly."
