Trump: (Nighttime attack on Iran) If a concrete result emerges from negotiations, this situation could change

US President Donald Trump made a statement to the US-based news channel Fox News regarding the expected nighttime attack on Iran. Speaking by phone with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, Trump reaffirmed preparations for intense strikes expected to be carried out against Iran after 20:00 US Eastern Time (03:00 Turkish time) in the event that no agreement is reached between the parties.

In his account of the conversation, Baier stated that he asked Trump about his expectations for resolving this crisis through an agreement and negotiations, and that the US President replied, "I'm not going to bet, but the 20:00 event will happen."

Emphasizing that harsh attacks would be carried out against Iran if no agreement is reached between the parties, US President Donald Trump said, "If we get to that point, they will face an attack like they have never seen before. If there is progress in the negotiations today and a concrete result emerges, this situation could change. We are moving forward in line with the plans we have."

US: "The ball is in the Iranians' court"

US Vice President James David Vance also touched upon the Iran issue during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during his official visit to Hungary. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Vance said that Iran is trying to create as much economic pain as possible around the world because it has been defeated militarily.

The US Vice President stated, "If the Iranians want to inflict a certain amount of pain, the US has the capacity to inflict much, much more pain on them. But the President does not want to do that. And I do not want to either. That is why we are negotiating aggressively. But ultimately, the ball is in the Iranians' court. Iran has never been a party that is very fast in negotiations, and they still are not. We are confident that Iran will give a positive or negative response before 20:00 (US Eastern Time)."

Vance added, "I hope they give the right answer, because we really want a world where oil and gas flow freely. A world where people can afford the costs of heating and cooling their homes. A world where people can afford to commute to work. If Iran engages in acts of economic terrorism, this will not happen."
