US President Joe Biden's statement on Iran: They have gone off the rails
In a statement, US President Biden said he would impose new sanctions on Iran.
Stating that new sanctions will be imposed on Iran, US President Joe Biden said, "Iran has gone off the rails. I do not support possible attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. I will speak with Netanyahu on the phone shortly."

US President Biden made assessments regarding the latest situation in the Middle East to members of the press before boarding his plane to visit South Carolina and North Carolina, states hit by Hurricane Helene.
In response to a question, Biden stated that he does not support a possible Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.
Noting that discussions with his Israeli counterparts are ongoing and that they are addressing how Iran should be responded to, Biden also noted that they held a joint teleconference with G7 leaders today and agreed that Israel should respond in a "proportionate" manner.
Following Iran's recent attacks, Biden commented, "Iran has gone very far off the rails."
