An explosion occurred at an illegally operated fireworks factory in the Harda district of India's Madhya Pradesh state around 11:00 local time, followed by a fire.
The sound of the explosion was heard from kilometers away, shattering the windows of nearby homes and shops, while local residents fled in panic. It was announced that 11 people lost their lives and 65 others were injured in the disaster. It was learned that 60 houses were damaged due to the explosion.
While firefighting efforts continue with more than 50 firefighters, there are concerns that many people may still be trapped in the factory.
