Zelenskyy: President Erdoğan will host at the highest level

In a written statement on his X account, Zelenskyy evaluated the remarks made by US President Donald Trump regarding the talks to be held in Turkey to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Describing Trump's statement as "very important," Zelenskyy stated that he supports the full and unconditional ceasefire proposal suggested by Trump, adding, "We want this, we are ready to maintain silence on our side."

Zelenskyy also conveyed his support for Trump's initiative to meet face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating, "I have clearly stated that I am ready for the meeting. I will be in Turkey. I hope the Russians do not shy away from the meeting."

Expressing that they also want US President Trump to attend the meeting in Turkey, Zelenskyy shared the following:

"Of course, we would all like President Trump to be with us at this meeting in Turkey. This is the right idea. We can change a lot. President Erdoğan can host meetings (for peace) at the highest level. We thank everyone who helps."

US President Trump, in his statement today regarding the talks to be held between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, stated that he believes the talks to be held on Thursday, May 15, will yield positive results, saying, "I don't know where I'll be at that moment. I'll be somewhere in the Middle East, but if I think it will be helpful, I can fly there (to Istanbul)."
