955,000 vehicles recalled

Stellantis has initiated a large-scale recall due to a software malfunction detected in its vehicles. According to the company's announcement, the problem with the software causes the rearview camera to lose functionality, which constitutes a significant deficiency in terms of driving safety.

Vehicle owners in the United States will be the group most affected by the recall. A total of 848,000 vehicles in the country have been called in for a free software update at service centers. The recalled models include the 2026 and 2027 production Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, Voyager, Dodge Charger, Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, and Wrangler series. Additionally, the Ram 1500, 2500, and ProMaster models are also affected by the faulty software.

In addition to the US, 107,000 vehicles in Canada, Mexico, and other regions are also included in the scope of the recall. Thus, this operation launched by Stellantis worldwide covers approximately 955,000 vehicles.

It was reported that the malfunction in the radio software prevents the vehicles' rearview cameras from working, which poses a potential danger to drivers. However, details regarding the software update to be performed as part of the recall have not yet been shared. The company is expected to announce the details shortly.

In a statement made on behalf of Stellantis, it was noted that the detected issue has not led to any accidents or injuries to date. Nevertheless, the company emphasized that it is prioritizing safety by proactively informing its customers and taking precautions.

It was stated that developments regarding the recall process will be announced through the company's official website and authorized dealers.
