Safety alarm from global automotive giants: Two million vehicles recalled

Numerous US-based automotive manufacturers have initiated a major recall following recent technical malfunctions. Specifically, a rearview camera failure has been detected in a total of 1.4 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles. This malfunction prevents the driver from having a clear view during reversing maneuvers and increases the risk of collision. The company announced that it will provide free replacements for vehicle owners of certain models produced between 2015 and 2020, as the camera system fails to provide a clear image to the user.

Fiat Chrysler has decided to recall over 291 thousand ProMaster model vans produced between 2018 and 2026. It was stated that the engine cooling fan issue detected in these vehicles could pose a risk of overheating and fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) drew attention to the seriousness of the issue, warning that "overheating electrical circuits carry a fire risk." On the Tesla front, approximately 64 thousand Cybertruck models pose a blinding risk to other drivers on the road due to their headlights being too bright. Additionally, it is stated that a battery contactor failure in the new Model 3 and Model Y could lead to a loss of power. The NHTSA announced that this lighting defect in the Cybertrucks violates current safety standards.

Recent announcements are not limited to these three companies alone. Jeep is recalling a total of over 24 thousand 2023–2025 Wrangler 4XE models due to a computer system malfunction. General Motors has also recalled 22,914 Cadillac and Chevrolet brand electric SUVs for safety reasons after quality issues were detected in the tire treads.

It was also reported that 13 thousand of Ford's popular Escape model were included in the recall scope after a production defect related to the brake system was detected. This defect can increase the vehicle's emergency braking distance.

According to data from AutoInsurance.com, there has been a notable increase in vehicle recall rates in recent years following quality controls and retrospective notifications. It is stated that recalls have increased by an average of 10 percent since 2015.
