Vehicles available without SCT in 2026: Prices have been announced

The conditions applicable for 2026 and the prominent models as of September regarding the SCT exemption applied to vehicle purchases for individuals with disabilities have been clarified. According to reports from Türkiye Gazetesi, the upper price limit for new vehicles that can be purchased with an SCT exemption is set at 2 million 873 thousand 900 TL.

However, this limit alone is not sufficient. According to the regulation, the vehicle must have a domestic contribution rate of at least 40 percent, and the eligible individual must meet the conditions regarding their disability status. For this reason, the list remains limited to specific models from brands that manufacture in Turkey.

MODELS MEETING THE DOMESTIC CONTRIBUTION REQUIREMENT

The List of Motor Vehicle Domestic Contribution Rate Declarations published by the Ministry of Industry and Technology was updated on September 17. Accordingly, models meeting the 40 percent domestic contribution requirement include the Hyundai i20 and Bayon; Renault Megane, Boreal, Duster, and Clio; Fiat Egea Sedan and Egea Cross; Toyota C-HR, Corolla, and Corolla Hybrid; and Togg T10X and T10F.

As of September 2026, prices exempt from SCT vary across a wide range depending on the brand and trim level. While some amounts in the source lists are stated as "estimated exempt prices," it is noted that final prices may vary based on the dealership, trim level, and current promotions.

WHO CAN PURCHASE A VEHICLE WITH AN SCT EXEMPTION?

Individuals with a disability rate of 90 percent or higher can purchase vehicles that meet the requirements for the first time without paying SCT. In this group, there is generally no requirement for special equipment or for the individual to drive the vehicle personally.

With the 2026 regulation, the scope was also clarified for individuals with orthopedic disabilities. Individuals with an orthopedic disability rate of 40 percent or higher, who are documented by a medical board report as unable to obtain a driver's license due to this condition, can benefit from the SCT exemption. Here, having a total disability rate of 40 percent is not considered sufficient on its own; the rate of the orthopedic disability and the inability to obtain a driver's license must be demonstrated by a report.

The vehicle replacement period in the regulation was also increased from 5 years to 10 years. For a vehicle purchased under the exemption to be sold to a non-disabled person without paying SCT, 5 years must have passed since the initial purchase date. However, the requirement to wait for a 10-year period remains for the purchase of a new vehicle without SCT.

If the vehicle becomes unusable and is scrapped due to reasons such as earthquake, flood, fire, landslide, or accident before the 10-year period expires, a new vehicle can be purchased without waiting for the period to end, provided that the specified conditions are met.
