Selçuk Bayraktar's jab at the fund scandal: 'They are acquiring wealth immorally'
Selçuk Bayraktar, son-in-law of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, met with young scientists at the 12th Turkish World of Medicine Congress held in Ankara.

Speaking at the congress, Bayraktar made an implicit reference to the ongoing fund scandal debates with his remarks directed at those trying to acquire wealth through easy means.

Speaking at the program, which was held under the auspices of the Presidency in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB), Bayraktar spoke of researchers who continue their scientific work with great effort.

Touching upon developments on the country's agenda, Bayraktar criticized the efforts of some individuals to get rich the easy way, using the following expressions:

"We look at our country's agenda. On one side, there are people like you who are trying to get somewhere with their own sweat and toil, through intellectual struggle and hard work, doing research to bring healing to people; on the other side, we see people trying to get somewhere and acquire wealth rapidly, easily, and immorally."
