Hot money and Turkey's existential problems

We are under the influence of a stifling "Heat Wave" on one hand, and a "Hot Money" wave on the other. Market players and state officials are pleased with the hot money wave. We have summarized in our previous articles that the bill for this will be very heavy. We have written technical articles about how much hot money is coming and what the end result will be. Today, let's get to the heart of the matter. Economic policies based on hot money ultimately turn into a significant existential problem for the state. It was implemented 20 years ago as well, and unfortunately, we are rapidly approaching the end. Let us evaluate what has happened over the last 22 years.

External dependency in the economy, and even more so, uncontrollable foreign debt dependency, is not perceived as an existential problem or collapse on its own, but it prepares the ground for other problems that will bring about collapse. First, military and political independence is lost. Over time, the social structure deteriorates. The society and the state become open to all kinds of internal and external interference.

You can militarily occupy a country whose economy you have collapsed by dragging it into a foreign debt trap, and whose military and political independence you have destroyed, but you cannot remain permanent. Even if you were to remain, the cost of occupation might exceed the returns of economic exploitation.

In this case, it is necessary to weaken that country's social structure, traditions, and culture. To do this, you divide society in two by using religion as a tool for politics. That is not enough; this time you disrupt the demographic structure with an influx of refugees. Now, military occupation is even easier. But it is still costly. In this case, it is necessary to transform the individual in the state-individual relationship. The way to do this is through education.

Instead of a free individual and society that thinks, objects, and demands rights, it is necessary to raise disciples who have lost the ability to think and question, who are content with what is given, who do not object, and who submit.

When these three conditions are met (dependency in the economy, collapse in the social structure, submissive individuals), there is no longer a need for military occupation. The country is yours.

What we have written here are not things that will happen from one day to the next. It requires a long process. It is a counter-revolution process. It begins with the death of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and continues to this day. However, the most severe period, which is now reaching its end, is the last 22 years of the AKP era.

ECONOMY

Following the hot money, agricultural, and other economic policies implemented by the AKP government, the economy lost its production and competitive power. When imports became more attractive than producing in agriculture and industry, the non-producing economy was dragged into a foreign debt trap. Successive mini-financial crises, and worse, a massive, permanent distribution crisis... We know what happened as a result. A handful of cronies who became rich through a tremendous system of plunder. A misery economy that pushed 80 percent of society below the poverty line. Farmers who cannot produce, retirees, workers, and civil servants who cannot make ends meet, small tradesmen who cannot get back on their feet... Industry and the business world that can compete by exploiting labor and through subsidized low interest rates... Sticky inflation, chronic unemployment, an unfair tax system, a state budget used for ostentation and enriching cronies... Individuals struggling with housing, hunger, and livelihood issues being moved away from the identity of citizens who demand rights to a state of being content with what is given, and this accelerating the decay in the social structure...

SOCIAL STRUCTURE

Politics that uses religion to increase cultural conflict in society... The society being split right down the middle like a watermelon by saying "them and us." The national values of society, national holidays, and the War of Independence and its heroes to whom we owe our homeland being ignored... Hostility toward Atatürk and insults against Atatürk, starting with a group initially dismissed as lunatics, and later extending to circles reaching up to the President of Religious Affairs...

Economic collapse, crony wealth, the unexplained enrichment of cronies from the highest-level administrators to the lowest level, the looting of state and public resources... And again, cronies from the highest-level administrators to the lowest level ignoring rights, law, and justice, violating the judiciary, the law, and the rules... Mafioso organizations of all sizes, supported by the government, police, and gendarmerie, sprouting up everywhere... A collapsing social morality, a collapsing judiciary, a collapsing army caused by all of this... Social collapse and decay in every field...

A hopeless and unhappy society, a youth that cannot even dream of the future and thinks of fleeing abroad at the first opportunity... The brain drain of qualified labor...

REFUGEE INFLUX:

Targeting the national consciousness that still existed due to the influence of the Enlightenment Revolutions that continued from 1923-1938 and somewhat until 1947... The effort to transform Turkish culture and tradition into Arab culture by using religion, and through this, the collapse of nationalism, the supporting column of the nation-state structure... To make the fracture in the social structure we summarized above even more effective, the disruption of the demographic structure... A massive wave of migration, an influx of refugees... Both the allocation of land to Kurds for a part of the Federated Kurdish State to be established in Syria within the scope of the Greater Middle East Project (BOP), and the collapse of the demographic structure, culture, and therefore the nation-state in Turkey... The planner of the refugee influx is US imperialism, its supporters are the West and Israel... The implementer of the refugee influx is the Government, and its supporters are the puppets of imperialism who supposedly call themselves nationalists...

EDUCATION AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF CITIZEN IDENTITY:

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Republican Revolution is one of the most important revolutions of the Twentieth Century. One pillar of the revolution is the transformation of the monarchical structure based on the sultanate into a Republican regime based on national sovereignty. But the more important and difficult pillar is the effort to transform the society, which consisted of the sultan's subjects in the Ottoman religious-agrarian state, into citizens equal before the laws of the republic. It is the transition from the ummah to the nation, from servitude to free individuality, and to the equality of citizens regardless of religion, language, or race.

A country has three important forms of capital. Human power, which we call human capital, natural resources, and accumulated technology-finance-industry capital... The most important of these is human power.

The AKP government has been Islamizing education for years. It was already very difficult to create a strong economic structure that competes with the world with this labor force and human capital. Now, with the new Maarif (Education) Model, it will become impossible. The recently introduced Turkey Century Maarif Model is a project to tear society and individuals away from the Twenty-First Century and take them back to the Middle Ages. It is a project to transport the Republic's people, who demand rights, into people who are content with what is given. It is a system for raising disciples who will submit unconditionally to the sultan or religious sects instead of free and equal individuals before the law.

With this education system, the children of the poor segments of society, who do not have the opportunity to receive a good education, are condemned to lifelong hunger, misery, and slavery. An objection to the new Maarif Model came from the management of TÜSİAD, which has no problems with the education of their own children and sends them to the best schools, primarily in the US and Europe. If we look at the objections from labor unions whose children will be condemned to lifelong misery and slavery... Hak-İş is a crony, Türk-İş is a yellow union... DİSK had an objection, but unfortunately, a much stronger social reaction could not be formed.

PROBLEMS IN THE ECONOMY CAN BE OVERCOME, BUT OTHERS ARE DIFFICULT

As an economist, I would like to underline this. It is possible to prevent the collapse in the economy and foreign debt dependency. However, the problems that will be caused by the refugee influx through migration will become unsolvable after a while. Eliminating the destruction caused by the degeneration in education will require at least twenty years, perhaps much longer.

I must also state this. All of these things happened in front of everyone's eyes. Whether the counter-revolution succeeds or not, it will certainly be written in the pages of history in the future. These counter-revolutionary moves against the Atatürk Republic took place from time to time with the pressure and coups of the Turkish Armed Forces, the founding element of the Republic, and from time to time with the votes and approval of the voters, knowingly or unknowingly. While political parties that are servants of the counter-revolution (read as imperialism) were advancing on this path by deceiving or convincing the voters, the CHP, which has undertaken the duty of opposition for the last 20 years in particular, did not and could not reflect the will of the voters who uphold Atatürk's revolutions into politics and opposition. The stance that the CHP under the chairmanship of Özgür Özel will take on this issue is important.
