32 irregular migrants, including 16 children, rescued from drifting rubber boat
Off the coast of Çanakkale, 32 irregular migrants, including 16 children, who were attempting to leave the country illegally, were rescued by Coast Guard teams. The migrants, who were drifting due to an engine failure in their boat, were sent to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after being rescued.
Coast Guard teams took action after receiving information that a migrant boat was drifting in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Ayvalık due to an engine failure and that the migrants inside the inflatable boat were requesting assistance.
The 32 migrants, who were rescued by the Coast Guard boat named KB-115 dispatched to the region, were brought to the Coast Guard Command on Cunda Island in Ayvalık.
The migrants, who were provided with humanitarian aid such as food, beverages, medicine, and medical supplies, were sent to the local Provincial Directorate of Migration Management following official procedures.
